At a press briefing of the Chinese Foreign Ministry (FM) on Friday, a reporter noted that the Chinese side said on Thursday that last week, a Japan Air Self-Defense Force jet intruded into the Chinese fleet's training zone, seriously disrupting normal training activities, and Japan's close-in reconnaissance on China's routine military operations constitutes the root cause of maritime and aerial security risks. The reporter said that Japan’s Ministry of Defense on Friday called this “unacceptable,” and asked China’s comments.
In response, Chinese FM spokesperson Lin Jian said that China on Thursday already made clear its position on the related issue, and has also communicated with the Japanese side through diplomatic channels, clearly stating its solemn position.
