Chinese humanoid robot maker UBTECH unveiled on Thursday the world's first hot-swappable autonomous power exchange system, which had been deployed in its latest industrial model - the Walker S2, the company said in a statement sent to the Global Times.
The system enables humanoid robot 24/7 continuous operation, with a fully autonomous battery swap completed in just three minutes — without manual intervention or shutdown. Using coordinated dual-arm control, high-precision positioning and compliance algorithms, the robot can accurately align and replace its battery, said the statement.
The company said the breakthrough reduces maintenance costs, ensures uninterrupted performance and boosts productivity. The robot can also autonomously choose between swapping or charging based on task priority, enabling dynamic energy management.
