Heavy rainfall has killed eight people and caused another 18 to go missing in Chengde, North China’s Hebei Province, news oulet Chinanews.com reported on Wednesday.
According to emergency rescue and relief command center of Xinglong county in Chengde city, Hebei, due to this round of heavy rainfall, some villages in Liudaohe town, Xinglong county were affected.
After verification, the disaster has resulted in eight deaths and 18 people missing. The search and rescue work for the missing persons is still underway in a tense manner.
After the disaster occurred, the local authorities of Hebei organized forces including the military, the armed police, the fire rescue team, the comprehensive emergency response team, and the public security department to quickly and orderly carry out search and rescue operations, infrastructure restoration, the transfer and resettlement of affected people, as well as support services, making every effort to ensure the safety of people’s lives and properties.
