When asked to provide more information and comment on media reports that two Chinese men suffered severe injuries after being attacked by four men in Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo of Japan, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun said on Thursday that "We have noted the relevant reports." Guo added that the Chinese Embassy in Japan immediately expressed its concern to the Japanese side and is further verifying the situation. "We urge the Japanese side to take effective measures to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens," the spokesperson said.
Two Chinese men suffered severe injuries after they were attacked on the street by four men using iron pipes in Chiyoda Ward, at around 9 am local time on Thursday, according to the report by Jiji Press.
